Jay owes whole career to Foxy Brown & ‘The Nutty Professor’?

Combat Jack has the rundown here. Great piece.

Hobart: news article & second show announced!

Here‘s a little something on Pez from The Mercury in Hobart.

Due to popular demand, a second Hobizzle show has been added to the Drapht/Downsyde/Pizzle tour for tomorrow night (Wednesday 25 March)… go Tassie!

Homebrew – new NZ flavour

These guys are pretty f*ckin’ tight… definitely more of a local, honest feel than most of the other stuff I’ve heard outta the land of the long white sheep, but still just as listenable as a PNC or a David Dallas. Smooth on the ears and a whole lotta fun.

Plus all their tracks are named after days of the week… gimmicks ahoy!

For no other reason…

…than this pic is just WOW. I don’t know who’s killin’ it more, Raincoat Ricky or Louis Loso. Pretty in pink my dude.

Pinched from Complex.

Tour pics!

Christ-like pose from Sixty, plus heaps more over @ FasterLouder.

And syncopated dance steps over @ InTheMix.

New Michael Danischewski snaps

Wow, this pic is on some project-hallway-after-midnight sh*t. Shout to A. Walker, I see you kid (shorts in the club?).

Check out the rest of the shots here. Big up Mike.

Seth Sentry – Unearthed Artist of the Week

Triple J continue to demonstrate their occasionally fine taste in music with the selection of the homie Seth Sentry as their latest Unearthed Artist of the Week.

All next week (which I guess means 16th-22nd March ’09) they’ll be playing his “underground smash” ‘The Waitress Song’ on the regular … and, if listeners request it enough, they might even add it to rotation! This is good.

So please, do the gosh darn thing and get your request on during the week, cos it’s about time we had a decent breakfast-related track flooding the airwaves:

Video: Ambientz – ‘Crush’ (prod. Stat D)

This has been floating about for a minute but I’ve had my head in the sand. Straight outta Sydney, nice Stat D banger.

Drake – ‘So Far Gone’ mixtape

drizzy

Picture a slightly more ‘hood College Dropout era Kanye with the swag of Lil Wayne and a penchant for R&B hooks recording a tribute album to 808s & Heartbreak … and you’re kinda there.
