Completely unrelated, but so good that it had to be posted.

Syntax album out tomorrow! (Win free stuff!)

Tomorrow’s the day! Syntax‘s eagerly anticipated debut (it says so right here in the press release), The Musical, will be available in stores and from all good digital retailers this Friday 27 August.

To celebrate (and in a highly cynical move), we are giving away five Soulmate prize packs to five lucky winners who cop the album on its first day of release. Here’s what you need to do:

1) Hit JB Hi-Fi or your local indie retailer (or, for the keyboard warriors, iTunes) tomorrow – Friday 27 August – and purchase a copy of Syntax’s new album The Musical.

2) Take a pic of your receipt (clearly showing the date and CD purchase info) and upload it from your phone to Twitpic or your preferred Twitter photo uploader. (For digital buyers, take a screenshot of your purchase. For people who still use conventional cameras and have to develop the film – um, sorry about that.)

3) Tweet your photo to us at www.twitter.com/solm8 (@solm8). While you’re there, follow us! First five entries win. We’ll then be in touch to get your postal details.

Good luck and God speed!

Matik update

Bit of an update from Matik this week (production mastermind behind Pez’s album A Mind Of My Own and Seth Sentry’s Waiter Minute EP):

“I’ve been super busy in the studio lately working hard on the new pez record, writing for a yet to be named project with a singer who lives Berlin via Melbourne, ghost writing rap songs for AFL commentators with Seth sentry, and mixing an album for sydney hip hop group Mind Over Matter…. Anyway will have some more pez updates soon so keep checking back, the album is shaping up quite nicely it’s really exciting.”
